I had one fellow dancing around in my booth Saturday after he sampled our Margarita Jelly, asking me 'why did you omit the worms?'!! So far, this month, these three have been neck and neck in the favorite department...but the Raspberry Chambord Truffle is inching up quickly! Which is your favorite?
We put the size poll to our customers and it was a draw! And in a way, I like being able to offer both sizes. The smaller four ounce jar allows our customers to try many of our fabulous flavors, and then once they get hooked on their favorite, they can always come back for more of the larger size.
We've also been offering a 'special' sale at farmers market that our regular customers are really taking advantage of. The flavor may be one of our regular line of wine or herbal jellies or it could be something new that I'm trying out. We're always looking for new suggestions and with fresh fruit season right around the corner, you'll be surprised at some of our new summer offerings. We're at the Kennebunk Farmers Market every Saturday from 8 am - 1 pm, and beginning May 23 you'll also find us at the Wells Farmers Market each Wednesday from 1:30pm - 5pm so stop on by for a sampling.
There were many reasons I chose this name for our jam and jelly company. Firstly, I've been an herb gardener for as long as I can remember, so the vintage part -- a fitting name, as well as the jammin' queen in the kitchen. Making seasonal herbal jams and wine jellies made with the freshest of hand picked fruits along with organic herbs right out of our gardens has always been appealing to me. For years I'd made jars upon jars of old and new family recipes solely for gift giving. But after a while, and so many encouraging words from those gift recipients, we've decided to venture forth and begin seriously offering our scrumptious jams and jellies to the public.

So far the response has been just wonderful. Actually, a little overwhelming too, but as each week passes we manage to iron out any glitches. Our jellies are made in small batches right here in our state approved and licensed kitchen. What started out as a passionate hobby has now grown into a semi-full time job. We hope you'll enjoy our fine selection of jellies and know in time we'll be coming up with even more tasty temptations... as the garden season flourishes..

You might be wondering what wine jelly really is? Well it's exactly that - jelly or jams made out of wine. Our jellies are made with a wide variety of wines such as, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Port and White Zinfandel just to name a few. We're even in the process of making a delicious Champagne Mimosa Jam--yum! Our jellies can be sweet, spicy, or savory and herbal, depending upon the ingredients. Check out our Jelly Cupboard for delicious Vintage Garden Wine Jelly recipes to add to your dinner table.

I suppose the next logical step was to begin blogging, so we've taken the plunge and started this new blog. This being the busiest season for many of us, please bear with me as I update and get all the news posted up here -- along with our show schedules of where you can find us and sample our yummy jams. But until then, you can always find us right here at Vintage Garden or feel free to email us with any questions you may have.
