We're so lucky to be able to get fresh, locally grown cranberries at Old Gray Beaver Bog.... Christmas Jam, Cranberry Merlot Jam and  fresh Cranberry Sauce..done. And even better, now labeled! Too close to call

I cannot decide what I like best...making these fabulous jams and jellies, or seeing the look on my customers faces as they dip into our many sample offerings! I had one fellow dancing around in my booth Saturday after he sampled our Margarita Jelly, asking me 'why did you omit the worms?'!!  So far, this month, these three have been neck and neck in the favorite department...but the Raspberry Chambord Truffle is inching up quickly! Raspberry Chambord Truffle Jam

Sinfully addictive.. Raspberry Chambord Truffle Jam


    Well, I picked bazoodles of raspberries and decided to try something new...Raspberry Chambord Truffle Jam with just a bit of chocolate.  Definitely addicting!  This is just scrumptious over vanilla bean ice cream...so chill out and come for a taste! We'll be bringing this new jam to Kennebunk Farmers Market this Saturday.  See you there!

Vintage Garden Hot Pepper Chili

                                                      Vintage Garden Hot Pepper Chili


                                                         1 1/2 Lbs of Lean Ground Beef
2 Hot Sausage patties
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
1 tablespoon Salt
1 tablespoon ground black Pepper
1 Medium Onion, diced
1 Sweet Red Pepper, diced
1 Sweet Orange Pepper, diced
1 Sweet Yellow pepper, diced
3 Cloves Fresh Garlic, minced
3 Jalapeno Peppers, minced
2 tablespoons Chili Powder
1 tablespoons Cumin
1 tablespoon Smoked Paprika
2 teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes
1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 - 6 oz can Tomato Paste 
1 Jar of Vintage Garden Hot Pepper Jelly
1/2 cup Brown sugar
5 fresh Tomatoes, diced
1 can Red Kidney Beans
1 can Pinto Beans
8 oz Pepper Jack Cheese, shredded
Optional Garnish: Chopped Scallions, Sour Cream



Heat pan with olive oil. Brown ground beef and sausage, add salt and pepper. Add all diced peppers, garlic, onion and jalapenos. Cook until soft. Once soft, add all spices to the mixture. Stir until all combined. Add tomato paste, jelly and molasses. Stir until combined. Then add diced tomatoes and all beans. Cook for 1 hour on low heat but stir occasionally. Place into bowls and add pepper jack cheese and optional toppings. Enjoy!!

Blueberry Picking

Sunday was blueberry picking day.. managed to picked 25# and will go for another 25 on Wednesday.  Did I say I just love blueberries?  Open daily, from now til the season ends.. Payeurs Blueberry Farm in Sanford, Maine. The picking is awesome and the Payeur family super nice folks!
In addition to our best selling Blueberry Merlot Jam~~we'll also be offering fresh blueberry galettes this week at Kennebunk Farmers Market. Stop on by for a sample!
